Application of 3D models

3D computer graphics[graphics?:graphics pattern] are often referred to as 3D models. Apart from the rendered graphic, the model is contained within the graphical data file. However, there are differences. A 3D model is the mathematical representation of any three-dimensional object. A model is not technically a graphic until it is displayed. Due to 3D printing[printing?:printing cutting finishing solution], 3D models are not confined to virtual space. A 3D model can be displayed visually as a two-dimensional image through a process called 3D rendering.

A 3D model and its render are amazingly attractive illustrations because they look incredibly realistic. 3D models can be rotated to make different angle renderings and can be fitted with a skeleton to animate them. These 3D illustrations are very popular today for architecture sketches, industrial pieces models, product prototype[prototype?:fast prototype maker cutting machine] presentation, presentations for all types of projects, video games and cartoons.
