What is steel rule die cutting

Steel rule die cutting[die cutting?:die cutting] is a cost effective, versatile, and precise method of stamping parts out of materials.  With few exceptions, steel rule die cutting is usually applied in a large margin of cost and quality considerations.

Simply put, steel rule die cutting is made using razor-sharp “steel rule” that is cut, bent, and mounted in various substrates forming a stamping tool according to the desired shape by using computer aided design (CAD) and precision laser cutting machines.

Steel rule die cutting can also be used for cutting more exotic materials. Thick foams, carpet and rubber can also be cut with this method. Steel rule die cutting is a relatively inexpensive and effective way of cutting soft sheet goods.
