Regular Slotted Container (RSC)
This is the most popular shipping container style. All flaps are the same depth and the two outer (lengthwise) flaps are one-half the container's width, so they meet in the center of the box when folded.
Full-Overlap Slotted Container (FOL)
All flaps are the same depth, and their depth equals the width of the box. When closed, the outer flaps come within one inch of a complete overlap. This style provides additional cushioning and protection against rough handling.
Half-Slotted Container (HSC)
This style is similar to an RSC, but with only one set of flaps. It is useful when an open-top container is desired. When it is used with a slightly larger (companion) HSC, the result is a full telescope half slotted box (FTHS), which provides extra product protection and stacking strength.
Overlap Slotted Carton[Carton?:carton box sample cutting machine] (OSC)
All flaps are the same depth, and the outer flaps overlap by one inch or more. This type is useful when the box length is much greater than the width, resulting in a large gap between the inner flaps. The overlap provides additional puncture protection over this gap.
Variable Depth Cartons
To pack and seal a box when it is not completely filled - select one of the multiple scoring (creased) lines, cut the corners of the box down to the desired height and fold. The resulting carton has the same clean corners and lines as the full size container, projecting a professional appearance and maintaining the boxes' crush strength rating.
