Menasha Packaging Unveils Expansion Plans

Menasha Packaging[Packaging?:DCP-H series packaging sample cutter plotter] will expand its corrugated box plant in Yukon, Pennsylvania, US, by investing $10m over the next 12 months.

Menasha said the project consists of three stages and is expected to increase the corrugated box capacity of the 300,000ft² plant by 35%.

Phase-I involves modernising the main line conveyor and installing two new Mosca Sonix fully automated unitisers, which will increase corrugated box  production efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.

The second phase is scheduled for the second quarter of 2011 and includes installation of a dry-end from Fosber and a new MarquipWardUnited Vanguard single facer.

The third phase is slated for completion in 2012 and involves the set up of Isowa four-colour flexo folder-gluer, which has shorter set-up times and faster run speeds.
